What it does
Accessibility Auditor is a browser extension for Microsoft Edge (Edge Add-ons) and Google Chrome (Chrome Web Store) that checks the web page you're on for accessibility issues using axe-core, the open-source accessibility engine by Deque. It lists each issue with its WCAG success criterion and level, the affected elements, and how to fix them, and can highlight the elements on the page. Audits run entirely in your browser; page content is never sent anywhere.

Running an audit
Open the page, click the Accessibility Auditor icon in the browser toolbar (pin it from the Extensions menu, the puzzle-piece icon, if you don't see it), then click "Audit this page". The popup shows the number of issues by impact (critical, serious, moderate, minor), the top issues, and items to check by hand. Tick "Highlight issues on the page" to outline the affected elements with numbered labels. Click "Open full report" for the complete list.
Full report
The report lists every issue with its impact, WCAG success criteria and level, the rule ID, a description, a "How to fix" link, and each affected element with its CSS selector, HTML snippet and the specific fix. Filter by impact, show or hide "check by hand" items, and search by rule or WCAG criterion. "Show on page" outlines a single element and scrolls to it (the audited tab must still be open).
Standards and settings
Settings → Audit settings: choose WCAG 2.2 AA (default), WCAG 2.1 AA or WCAG 2.0 AA, and optionally include best-practice checks that aren't WCAG requirements. Automated checks find a subset of WCAG issues; a clean result does not mean a page is fully accessible or legally compliant, and "check by hand" items need a person to decide.
Pages that can't be audited
Browsers don't let extensions run on browser pages (chrome:// or edge://), extension stores, or other extensions' pages. Content inside iframes from other domains isn't audited. If you see "This page can't be audited", open the website itself, click the extension icon on that tab and run the audit again.
Free Pro trial
Every Pro feature can be tried free for 7 days: open Settings → Plans and click "Try Pro free for 7 days". No card or sign-up is needed. The trial runs once per browser profile (its start date is kept in the browser's sync storage); when it ends, the extension returns to the Free plan and keeps your settings and audits. To keep Pro, buy a plan and activate the licence key. The popup shows how many trial days are left.
Activating a licence
After purchase your licence key is shown on the order page and sent in the receipt email from Creem. Open Settings → Licence, paste the key and click Activate. Each browser profile uses one activation: Pro keys work on 3 browsers, Agency keys on 15. To move a licence, click "Deactivate on this browser" first. The extension re-checks the licence about once a week; if our server can't be reached, Pro features keep working for 14 days. The licence key is sent to api.iiclabs.com and Creem only to check the plan.
Licence problems
- "That licence key wasn't recognised": copy the whole key from the receipt email, without spaces.
- "Already active on the maximum number of browsers": deactivate it on a browser you no longer use, or reply to support with your order email.
- "This licence has expired": the subscription ended or a payment failed; renew from the customer portal link in your Creem receipt.
Exports
Pro: "PDF report" opens the print dialog with a print-ready report; choose "Save as PDF". "CSV" gives one row per affected element (page, rule, impact, WCAG, EN 301 549, element, HTML, how to fix) for spreadsheets or ticket imports. "JSON" gives the full results. Set a report title under Settings → Report branding; Agency plans can add a logo and remove the Accessibility Auditor name.
Multi-page sweep
Pro: Report page → Sweep. Paste up to 100 URLs, or load them from a sitemap URL. The browser asks once for permission to open each site. Each page opens in a background tab, is audited and closed; results appear in a table and can be exported together.
Refunds
Full refund within 14 days of your first purchase: email support@iiclabs.com from the address you used at checkout. The subscription is cancelled at the same time.
Privacy
The extension needs only "activeTab", "scripting" and "storage" permissions; site access for sweeps is requested per site when you start one. Audit results stay in your browser's extension storage. No analytics or tracking. Privacy policy: https://iiclabs.com/privacy
